When you engage Flux to design your website, you get much more than design and hosting. We provide a full Webmaster Service which covers all the technical and administrative functions your business needs to maintain a professional Internet presence.

Website Design Process

The process of designing your website is divided up into four distinct phases. The methodical approach we use ensures that the end product is the very best one possible for your business.

We start by defining precisely what your needs are, down to a granular level of detail. You may only have a high-level idea of what you want at this stage. So we assist you with a detailed analysis of your needs, what your website is meant to achieve for your business and how its success will be measured.

The output from this phase is a Project Definition Report. It documents the detailed scope, milestones and deliverables and will be used to measure the progress and ultimate success of the project.

 

Once the goals and objectives of the project are agreed, we commence the Design phase. We produce a first draft of a 'look and feel' for your website, based on our agreement in the Project Definition Report. We ask you to review the draft and we make any modifications you require.

The output of the Design phase is a template that defines how your website will look and feel. Once you approve this, we proceed to the Build phase.

 

We now have the overall look and feel for your website and need to populate it with content. The structure of your site and where the content will come from were determined in the Define phase. So we work with you to pull together the text and graphical content.

How this proceeds will largely depend on the nature of your business. For example, if you sell new cars, we can obtain much of the content from the manufacturers for you. If, on the other hand, you provide unique products or services, we will rely on you for most of the content. If required, we can assist you with copy writing.

The Build phase includes several iterations of comprehensive testing and quality control, where we ensure that the site will perform as intended in different web browsers, at different screen resolutions and so on.

An integral part of the Build phase is the weaving of relevant keywords into the site content, to optimise its performance in search engines like Google.

At all stages of the Build process, you have visibility of the work in progress. This will be through a password-protected facility, so that only you or anybody you nominate can see how your site is taking shape before it is ready for launch.

When your site has been populated with content, we put it through another round of testing. We will ask you to review the site and approve it for launch. When you have done this, the Build phase is complete.

 

Your site is now ready to go live! Upon your approval to launch, we transfer your new website to the live web server and perform some final testing.

Congratulations - your business is now online!

We now submit your site to the search engines and Internet directories. Over the next few weeks we monitor the web server logs and search engines to ensure that your site is showing up in search results. At this stage, we may refine some content and keywords, to increase rankings in the search engines. This is an ongoing process that we undertake as part of the project.

 

Post-launch, we go into a Steady State phase, where we maintain your website for you on an ongoing basis, as agreed in the Design phase.

Depending on the services you opted for, we may also provide you with monthly reports on visitors to your site, how they found it, what they do on it, etc. We can also manage Google AdWord campaigns on your behalf and offer proactive advice on new and emerging trends in technology and Internet usage, in the context of the business sector you are in.
